SIGUI (TMS IBA 98/0505)

TMS 98/0505, which is a new, early variety ( the growth cycle is 9 months), has a high dry matter content (33%), a high starch level (69%) and a very high yield (46 t/ha) and is resistant to multiple diseases and cassava pests.

The stems of TMS 98/0505, developed from the 97DTPTEP2, grow up straight; it has a narrow violet-green leaf and grows to an average height of (3 m), with a stalk of silverish-green; the tuber shows a white coloured flesh covered by light brown rind. The tuber has no neck.

The inter-nodes are short (on average 2,4 cm) and the diameter of the stem is large.
