The FHIA is a short banana tree (3,00 m maximum) with a compact cylindrical bunch, and can produce up to 214 fruits on 13 bunches. A bunch may weigh as much as 45 kg. The main trunk (the pseudostem) is vigorous, pinkishgreen in colour and has dark brown patches. The fruit is green and has a good flavour and the texture makes it suitable for all forms of cooking.
